Through our engagement with financial institutions, we see a recurring challenge among investors who must translate and reconcile information from multiple climate data sources and established frameworks before it can be used in investment, risk, or stewardship processes.
This creates friction between the frameworks that investors use, and the data available to apply them. It can make it harder to compare companies consistently, understand the underlying evidence, and translate transition assessments into financial decisions.
For transition frameworks to support the mobilisation of capital, investors need access to the underlying data in forms that are transparent, consistent, and usable within their existing processes.
Arc has been developing its capabilities to meet this need with data infrastructure that’s interoperable by design. Arc already brings together transition data and analysis of more than 2,000 companies from 10+ partners. Now, this infrastructure is being leveraged to serve transition data in the form that end users need, starting with the Net Zero Investment Framework (NZIF).
NZIF is one of several major transition frameworks used by investors, companies, policy makers, and civil society to track and enable progress towards net zero. We are in discussions with partners about which framework comes next—and how to bring coherence to the transition landscape in the process.

Its established use across the investment community makes it a natural starting point for testing how Arc’s underlying transition data can be made interoperable with frameworks already embedded in institutional processes.
